Uniformes Arrieta is one of the most historic baseball apparel companies in Mexico, celebrating more than 50 years of professional sports manufacturing in 2023. The company has long been recognized for working with high level teams and leagues across Latin America and internationally, primarily in baseball, while also producing uniforms for professional basketball and soccer organizations.
Arrieta was not unfamiliar territory for me.
Between 2014 and 2016, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the company through its Sports Design division, designing uniforms for Team Mexico during the 2015 and 2016 Caribbean Series, as well as projects involving Sultanes de Monterrey and Pericos de Puebla in the Mexican Baseball League.
But this time, the challenge was completely different.
At the beginning of 2025, Arrieta contacted me again to collaborate on the development of two new digital platforms designed to separate the company’s professional sports services from its growing retail and fan focused audience.
The project involved the creation of:
A portfolio driven corporate website focused on professional leagues, teams, distributors, and high level clients around the world. The platform was designed to showcase the company’s history, capabilities, manufacturing quality, largest projects, and long standing presence within professional sports.
A completely new e-commerce platform dedicated to the sale of sports apparel and products manufactured by the company.
At the time, Arrieta operated under a single website experience through arrieta.mx. However, the vision moving forward was clear: separate both audiences and create a more specialized digital experience for each segment.
The objective was not simply to redesign a website.
It was to build a scalable digital ecosystem capable of supporting both professional sports organizations and direct consumer sales without sacrificing user experience, branding, or future growth potential.
Development for arrieta.pro began in March 2024.
The platform was designed entirely in English with a strong focus on positioning Arrieta as an international sports apparel manufacturer capable of working with leagues, teams, and organizations beyond the Mexican market.
More than a traditional corporate website, arrieta.pro became a presentation platform for potential high level clients, highlighting the company’s legacy, manufacturing process, services, and sports history through a cleaner and more modern digital experience.
The site officially launched in April 2024.
Following the completion of arrieta.pro, development immediately shifted toward the company’s most ambitious digital project at the time: shop.arrieta.pro.
The platform was designed and optimized around Shopify infrastructure while focusing heavily on bilingual accessibility, scalability, and user experience.
The website dynamically adapts between English and Spanish depending on the user’s geolocation and browser preferences, reducing friction during the shopping process for both Mexican and international customers.
In addition, the platform was developed with multiple secure payment systems depending on the customer’s location, including credit and debit cards, PayPal, and future scalability for cryptocurrency integration.
Currency localization also became an important part of the user experience, allowing visitors to view products and pricing in their preferred currency, including U.S. dollars and Mexican pesos, while maintaining scalability for additional international currencies depending on future expansion strategies.
Every aspect of the platform was designed with a strong UI and UX approach focused on creating a fast, intuitive, and seamless purchasing experience across desktop and mobile devices.
The platform officially launched in June 2024.
Since launch, the project has continued evolving as part of a larger long term digital commerce strategy connected to future innovations involving leagues, teams, and customized sports products.
What began years earlier through baseball uniform design eventually evolved into a much larger digital collaboration focused on branding, positioning, and international commerce.
The development of arrieta.pro and shop.arrieta.pro was not simply about launching new websites. The objective was to create a scalable digital ecosystem capable of separating professional sports clients from retail audiences while preparing the company for future growth in international digital commerce.
For me, the project represented a full circle moment. From designing baseball uniforms as a college student to later helping build the digital evolution of one of the most historic sports apparel companies in Mexico, the collaboration with Arrieta became another example of how sports, design, technology, and storytelling continue shaping my professional career.
